IPSTAR Broadband Internet Plans
IPSTAR Broadband offers a variety of internet plans for both residential and corporate consumers. Currently, the telco offers the following services:
-
Sky Muster Satellite
-
NBN Fibre
-
NBN Fixed Wireless
-
Business Internet
Customers have three contract types to choose from:
-
Month-to-month (once-off activation fee of $99 for NBN fixed-line and fixed wireless plans)
-
12-month
-
24-month
All plans come with unlimited data, similar to what you’ll find with other popular providers.
There are early termination charges associated with IPSTAR’s Sky Muster plans. The telco’s 1-month plan has a no lock-in clause, which means you can leave anytime without incurring fees. However, the 12-month and 24-month will have termination fees if you decide to leave early. The fees are as follows:
-
1-month contract ($0 inc)
-
12-month contract (upto $165 inc)
-
24-month contract (upto $275 inc)
Sky Muster Satellite
Sky Muster is an NBN service that connects Australians through satellite technology. Sky Muster is generally used in regional and remote areas where an NBN connection is not available – like mainland Australia, Tasmania, or remote areas like Norfolk Island or Lord Howe Island. When you sign up for a satellite plan, you’ll need a roof satellite dish installed on your property and an NBN-supplied modem. An NBN-approved technician will install this equipment before your service is started. Sky Muster plans are generally more expensive than NBN plans, but if you don’t have access to the NBN network, satellite technology is a great option.
Below, you’ll find a breakdown of the satellite plans currently offered by IPSTAR Broadband. If you’re unsure whether satellite broadband is right for you or don’t know if you’re eligible, call our internet experts today.
IPSTAR Broadband Sky Muster Plus
The telco’s Sky Muster plans are all classified as ‘Plus’ but have three different tiers that separate them.
The following plans are powered by NBN Sky Muster Premium.
IPSTAR Broadband Sky Muster Plus Entry Plan
As the name suggests, IPSTAR’s Sky Muster Plus Entry plan comes with a basic speed of NBN 25. This plan comes with unlimited data but no ‘Burst Speeds’ feature, which is essentially a period where your speeds could ‘burst’ and exceed the advertised NBN speed under the right network conditions.
Sky Muster Plus Standard and Premium Plans
IPSTAR’s Sky Muster Plus Standard and Premium plans are pretty similar to the Entry tier, with the main difference being faster NBN speeds (Sky Muster Plus Standard offers NBN 50 and Sky Muster Plus Premium offers NBN 100) and the addition of ‘Burst Speeds’ where your upload speeds could ‘burst’ up to 10Mbps. While these two plans are generally more expensive, if you need faster speeds for your home, these tiers could offer a more streamlined internet experience.
IPSTAR Broadband Features & Perks
IPSTAR Broadband does not offer features and add-ons you’d find with full-service providers like Optus or Telstra. However, that doesn’t mean you won’t get any benefits. Below are some benefits you can expect from IPSTAR Broadband when you become a customer.
Zero Installation Fees: For a standard Sky Muster Plus installation, there are no installation or setup fees. Any satellite equipment that is installed will also incur no charges. NBN will assess whether an installation is standard and depends on your location.
Modem/Router: IPSTAR Broadband allows you to bring your own compatible modem and router for all plans. The telco also has pre-configured routers for an additional cost as well.
Contract Options: Customers can choose between a month-to-month, 12-month, or 24-month contract for all Sky Muster, NBN fixed-line, and fixed wireless plans.
Speed Tiers: IPSTAR Broadband currently offers five speed tiers on its NBN plans: NBN 12, NBN 25, NBN 50, NBN 100, and NBN 250
